General Terms and Conditions – Het Sop B.V.
Ticket Sales Summary
- Tickets are available at the sales kiosk or online via our website.
- Online, you can pay using your preferred payment method.
- At the kiosk, you can pay by debit card, credit card, or cash.
- Cancellation by the guest (client):
- Up to 2 hours before departure, you may request to reschedule your cruise to another date or time (subject to availability). This must be done by telephone in consultation with us.
- If Het Sop B.V. cancels (for example, due to bad weather or unforeseen circumstances), the cruise will be rescheduled in consultation or the ticket will be refunded.
- All cruises are subject to “weather and other conditions”; the skipper and guide decide whether a cruise will proceed.
- You are expected to be at the sales kiosk 30 minutes before the cruise starts.
- Het Sop B.V. offers a spacious saloon, upper deck, and toilets on board.
- Please dress appropriately for the weather.
- There is catering on board, but you may also bring your own food and drinks.
For Your Safety
- Sailing is prohibited in the following cases:
- Coastal wind warning of 6 or higher (see KNMI.nl/kustdistricten or www.Buienradar.nl).
- Announcement by management due to organizational or technical reasons.
Privacy
- Your phone number and email address are used to send tickets, reservations, cancellations, or to contact you regarding a cruise.
Full General Terms and Conditions
- Regular Cruises
- Cruises can be booked for one or more persons, up to a maximum of 32 people per booking.
- Reservations can be made online (up to 1 hour before the cruise) or by phone.
- Registration at the boat is also possible.
- Passengers (including groups) must be present 30 minutes before departure. If you are late, please call us.
- Pets are allowed on a leash.
- Smoking is prohibited on board.
- Weather Conditions
- In case of weather conditions that hinder or make the cruise impossible, the skipper decides whether the cruise will take place.
- No cruises are held in wind force above 8 Beaufort.
- Even with less wind, the skipper may decide not to sail.
- Force majeure and insufficient participation may lead to cancellation or change of the cruise.
- Conduct and Instructions
- The skipper may remove passengers who misbehave or are clearly intoxicated from the boat.
- Always follow the instructions of Het Sop B.V. or its staff.
- The skipper may change the route in case of bad weather or obstructions.
- Delays and Waiting Times
- The boat departs at the scheduled time; for regular cruises, there will be no waiting.
- Payment
- Group cruises: payment on the day itself, unless otherwise agreed.
- Regular cruises: payment in advance, by card or cash.
- Payments must be made to the bank account of Het Sop B.V. after receipt of the invoice.
- Amounts must be paid in one installment.
- Any collection costs are at the client’s expense.
- Cancellation by the Client
- Cancellation can be made in writing, by phone, or by email (including the date).
- Upon request, up to 2 hours before departure, the cruise can be rescheduled to another date/time (by phone, subject to availability).
- Liability of Het Sop B.V.
- Not liable for damage to or loss of the client’s property; all is at your own risk.
- Not liable for injury, except in cases of gross negligence or intent.
- Not liable for damage when boarding the jetty or boat.
- Not liable for delays at departure or during the cruise.
- Liability is limited to direct damages and up to the insured amount or the invoice amount.
- Not liable for lost items.
- Liability of the Client
- The client is liable for any damage caused by them to property of Het Sop B.V. or third parties.
- Activities are at your own risk.
- The client indemnifies Het Sop B.V. against claims for damages from third parties.
- General Liability
- No liability for personal injury or damage, except in cases of proven intent or gross negligence.
- Children are the responsibility of parents/guardians and must always be accompanied up to 14 years old.
- No refunds in case of force majeure.
- Complaints
- Complaints must be submitted in writing (by email) within 2 days after the cruise.
- Verbal or late complaints will not be processed.
- Safety
- Always follow the instructions of the skipper/guide.
- Failure to follow instructions may result in the cruise being terminated without the right to a refund.
- If the maximum number of passengers is exceeded, surplus persons may be refused.
- Lost and Found
- Lost items can be handed in to the guide or skipper.
- Het Sop B.V. keeps lost items for a maximum of one month.
- Items can be collected upon showing identification.
- Applicable Law
- Only Dutch law applies.
- Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in Alkmaar.
Appendix: Additional Sales Conditions and Information
- Tickets are available at the counter or online. Online, you pay with your preferred method; at the counter, you can pay by card, credit card, or cash.
- Cancellation by the guest: up to 1 hour before departure, a new date/time can be arranged by phone (subject to availability).
- In case of cancellation by the guest, administrative costs will be charged (see article 9).
- In case of cancellation by Het Sop B.V. (for example, due to bad weather, unforeseen circumstances, or insufficient participation), the cruise will be rescheduled or the ticket refunded.
- All cruises are subject to “weather and other conditions”; the skipper and guide decide whether a cruise will proceed.
